Royal Albatross Centre
The Royal Albatross Colony at Taiaroa Head, is the world's only mainland breeding colony of Albatross. View these magnificent sea birds up close and learn about their life cycle.

The Royal Albatross Centre offers excellent interpretative displays of the history and wildlife of the area and guided eco-tours of the albatross colony and surrounds.

New Zealand Marine Studies Centre and Aquarium
The NZ Marine Studies Centre and Aquarium are part of the University of Otago. As well as opening to visitors, the Centre is used for marine research, school education programmes and special interest marine tours.

Peek inside a shark egg, touch a sea anemone, feed a hungry pigfish and shake hands with an octopus or taste local seaweed as part of the Aquarium's underwater gardens programme.
